Pediatrics Ward. Was
okay but I hated seeing injured/sick kids! The Nurses liked me though
because I could almost always cheer the kids up. I was good at holding
them for different tests, like taking spinal fluid or blood. I really
learned to draw blood on kids so had no problem later with adults.
Got married for first time. The future-Ex showed up on the bus one day and I didn't have the heart to send her home. Should have. Lived in an upstairs apartment in Berkeley, Ca. When the ex- and I got married we loaded everyone into their cars, drove to Tilden Park, chose a good looking tree, got out and got married. My motorcycle was stolen one night from our parking space. Girl downstairs used to come up and sunbathe topless on our balcony. The Jehovah's Witness folks bothered me for several Saturdays (at 0900!) until I answered the door naked and invited them in to talk. Never saw them again... Worked for Acme Western Ambulance Company in Oakland. Sometimes drove but usually worked the back. Was fun! And educational! Mark Ferguson was an excellent partner/driver. I truly enjoyed emergency medicine! Even with running into a couple of burning buildings, upside down cars and even getting shot at! We wouldn't go to San Francisco because of the 'Zebra' killings. One of the Ex's Uncles gave us an old car cause he didn't think a pregnant woman should be riding a motorcycle. Christmas trips to Utah sucked. |
