Did
some back seating in the TA-28 prop training/spotter plane. Went for a few flights in the UH-1n (Angel 2 mostly)
trying to get into the SAR group. Really Really liked flying! Commander
Stormin' Norman Hicks. (Great pilot). Frank Sabato, HM/SAR. Pete Slenning! Bought a 500 twin Honda (Gads that thing vibrated after a long ride!) and a 68-Mustang (loved that car!). A month in Yuma (where I bought my very first cassette player for the car) and Fallon, Nevada for deployments. Never did get aboard the USS Oriskany for WESTPAC. Used to play volleyball during lunch against the DK's from down the hall. Lived in housing and got robbed there once. My wife lost like $80 trying to win me a stereo system at a local fair and presented me with a stuffed lion instead. Made my first (and only) two parachute jumps from a helo. Once cooked a fish in the autoclave and it forever stunk after that. |
