After I retired I
got to sit around the house for all of two weeks. Finally got a job at
Stac Electronics (remember Stacker?) in tech support. (I think I was the
4th or 5th tech they hired.) Worked there in Carlsbad for a year, asked
for a $1/hr raise because I was answering all the e-mails (via our BBS),
all the faxes and my share of the phone calls for tech support. They
refused so I quit and went to work for Compton's NewMedia (Encyclopedia)
for what I thought I was worth. (Stac had to hire TWO techs to do what I
was doing. So instead of spending an extra buck on me they spent $10 on
another tech! Smart move!) Stac was pretty nice when our son Patrick
died though, by letting me spend a couple of weeks home but still paying
me my regular salary.
Kathy was still in the Navy and along Jan 93 we transferred to Bremerton, Washington where we still reside. We lived at the same address in Olalla for 10 years but finally found some land to build our earth sheltered dome in. We're trying to get all that done now. And that's as up to date as you're going to get! |
